About Us

Little Otter Tree Farm is a family run business established by Jeff Scott in 1988.

Jeff began his career while studying at Sault Ste. Marie College in the forestry program. After graduation, he worked at the Research Station in Delhi, Ontario, and then with Keith Somers in his nursery business before starting Little Otter Tree Farm 32 years ago.

In late 2008, after a local factory closed, Jeff’s brother Brent, joined the team to help with management and planting. Brent brings with him 15+ years of supervisory skills. Many of the Scott children and grandchildren have been involved in recent years with maintaining the greenhouses, inventory, sales and planting.

Little Otter Tree Farm specializes in Carolinian trees, but can also help you find that special tree. In the past, we have been involved in wedding favours, tabletop centerpieces, anniversaries, providing trees for the Boy Scouts for planting programs, Annandale Public School in their outdoor classroom as well as memorial plantings. Christmas Trees are also available at a separate location.

Timber marking are also available.

Our Mission

Little Otter Tree Farm is here to continually maintain and establish a variety of Carolinian trees in Southwestern Ontario. We have been involved in many forest restoration programs as well as biodiversity management initiatives in Toronto and surrounding areas in ravine, quarries, gravel pit, tree-lined roads and communities for many years, and hope to continue to grow that part of the business. We attract customers in both retail and wholesale demographics.

About Our Farms

Little Otter Tree Farm has had a few different locations in the past, and since 2008, now calls Keswick Road, North of Tillsonburg, home for our 5 large greenhouses accommodating our Carolinian species of trees and where our seedlings are started. Ask for a tour of our property if you wish to see certain specimens of trees we have available that have been planted for our own pleasure. If you are a nature lover, ask us which trees and/or shrubs will attract your feathered friends, wild turkeys and deer.

Our address at 850 Norfolk County Road 30, just south of Tillsonburg, is where you will discover a wide variety and sizes of evergreens perfect for your family’s Christmas tree. Also at this is the location is where our firewood is processed and is available for pickup.
